It’s the Little Things…8 Minutes for Focus

Meditation.

(Did I just hear you groan?)

Seriously, did you think I was going to say ‘magick’ or, ‘some miracle drug’ ?

Nope, let’s stick with the ancient secrets that got passed down and worked, mkay?

Meditation has, and continues to revolutionize the way humans think. People are actually, like, shifting the workings of the universe, all while sitting in one place (or whatever!) inside their own mind.

And when we think we are too frazzled or antsy to do it, that’s when we need it the most. The moment you start feeling panicked, rushed, totally overwhelmed and more importantly like you don’t have enough time. Stop right there and set a countdown clock for 3 or 4 minutes and spend all them TRYING, to give your attention to emptying your mind.Monday’s Muse: Pine Trees and Persephone – The Lunatic Poet

It won’t work of course, your mind won’t be empty after 3 or 4 minutes, don’t even think the Dali Lama could do that. But the act of trying to give your mind your attention is where the action’s at.

It’s not about how long you do it, it’s about continuing to go back and do it.

Again and again;

until the inside of your mind is a comforting and familiar place, and the adventures you have with yourself are folded up into fond memories same as all the others…

If you think your ready to try, I really liked this one book on meditation that I borrowed from my local library and talk about on the next page.
