Let me share with you the ground rules: I’m of course, loosely paraphrasing:
FUNDAMENTAL FACTOID: Meditation is TOTALLY not ‘nothing’. There is a lot going on under the hood! Some of the most important work you can do for yourself. Even when it feels like its not. Especially then.
Rule # 1: Do the damn meditation exercises. Everyday. It’s EIGHT FRIGGIN MINUTES FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, you have the time. Make it a new habit.
Rule # 2: Get a timer so you don’t have to watch the clock which (womp, womp) breaks up your meditation.
Rule # 3: If you are making the time to do it, you are doing it right. Don’t say but ‘but I couldn’t…” and ‘I didn’t feel/notice….”. Don’t need a special place or atmosphere; doesn’t matter. If you did it for Eight minutes, and didn’t skip it, you did great!
Okay we have the rules, now what are the tips to maximize a session?
